BookExpo America and Times Square in New York City
Here is Peggy at the Strategic Book Group's booth at BookExpo America at the Jacob Javit's Center. She's ready to begin signing books.
Thanks to the NYPD, New York is one of the safest cities in which to walk around. There are two, or more, police officers on every corner!
Don and I have traveled all over the world, but I didn't see Times Square until May 2010!
My love for Broadway musicals is profound and deep. I've either performed in or seen almost everyone produced. Here I am outside the Marquis Theatre perusing the play boards for the many Broadway musicals presented since the 1920s.

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

The cool but clear weather brought record-breaking crowds to the book festival. Here is the happy author ready for the day in her booth. The booth to the left of us was a vampire author. That is juxtaposition for you! The booth to the right of us was a word game. Between the three booths, we drew almost every young adult attendee at the festival.
Don took this picture before the mayhem began. The festival didn’t start until 10:00 A.M., but the multitude arrived hours early. He shot the pictures before the aisles filled with people.
The crowd grew throughout the day. At one point in time, a hundred people per minute walked down the walkway! Don counted them. We observed some individuals who targeted mothers with strollers and then followed them. The stroller created an automatic cut through the crowd path-maker.

A mob of people showed up! There were so many people at the festival that a person couldn’t even navigate normally through the aisles. It reminded me of the Midway at the Minnesota State Fair on Labor Day weekend. Oofta!
We talked to hundreds of people. At one point in time on Sunday afternoon, we had a group of fifteen interested readers standing three persons deep in front of our booth trying to get a better look at everything. The Times had printed a huge book insert the Sunday before. The listing brought the faithful readers directly to us. We met many wonderful people.
