Why Did I Write Christian
Fiction?
|
I didn't choose Christian
fiction to write as much as it chose me. God has led me through the entire
process. I wanted to write irresistible stories about the importance of
family and faith, stories with heart, spirit, and soul. I had an extraordinary
upbringing and many touching as well as riotously funny stories to tell. Our
dad made certain that we had purpose and focus in our lives so that we didn't
stray into bad habits or gangs. That doesn't mean that we were perfect. We
played goads of pranks on each other, but we worked through our youth and
humanness with God as our guide.
We lived on an
interdependent dairy farm where everyone had his or her assigned chores to
perform daily. We relied on each other to get the work done, and there was
plenty of it. God bestowed two gifts upon me: a wondrous relationship with
animals, and a musicality beyond my years. I had a strong relationship with my
Maker from the time I was eleven years old and on, and that's why I begin the
stories at that age.
I wanted to write a
series of books that would excite and
inspire people, stories that bring current-day issues to the forefront, yet
incorporate a message of faith, hope, truth, and values. We don't
always have to go along with the crowd. We do have a choice, and maybe the
choice is to lead others back onto a healthier path.
The series of five
books are about an impetuous, talented, and fun-loving young woman, her family,
and her friends. The books describe with scintillating details the adventures
and emotions of the main character, Lilia. You will travel with her, laugh with
her, and cry with her as she faces real-life situations. With the help of her
family and friends, she learns how to deal with what life throws at her in a
wise and noble manner. In turn, she helps and supports many people to make
positive changes in their lives as God's hand moves across the planet.

A great follow up to the first book!, March 8, 2010
This review is from: Confidence: Reliance on the Spirit (Soft Cover)
I recently read the first book in this series and was so enthralled I
picked up this one and read the whole thing in one day. It's refreshing
to find a book with crisp vibrant writing, and good story line, which
is also tied to Christian values. I've read some pretty poorly written
books by Christian authors, and this is NOT one of them! I can't wait
for the next one to come out!

A treasure for a girl in her teens, April 29, 2010
This review is from: Innocence: Simplicity of Spirit (Hardcover)
This is a great story. One I wish I had found when I was 12. It's so
descriptive and set in a gorgeous place most Americans like me know
little about: Hawaii. It has many unexpected twists and turns, but all
believable. I love how it shows that it is possible for a family to
work out their lives and problems TOGETHER, and how it develops and
changes the characters as the story unfolds, especially the girl, of
course, who learns how life changes as you start to grow up. Every
character is fun and multidimensional, and the vantage point of the
reader changes to show separate events in the lives of each of the
family members. Masterfully and beautifully written, this would be fun
for any girl on the verge of her teens.

Nothing can stop Lilia
Posted
April 22, 2010, 9:03 PM EST for Confidence: Reliance on the Spirit.: Lilia is a young teen who is highly
focused and a master at everything she touches----school, horses,
musical instruments and boys! Her days are filled with fun and hard
work; and a few little temper tantrums thrown in here and there when
the reins get too tight. Through it all, she honors God. Lilia inspires
all around her.
